Santa Barbara is my birthplace ('53) to age ten, when the family moved to Florida. It was an awesome place to grow up...I'll be forever grateful for the adventures in the mountains and the ocean.
I'll just say that it was even better sixty years ago. Certainly less crowded. Ca had about 1/4 the current population. Lenient parents let me gone all day hiking in the mountains, discovering my love for nature, or on other days out in the ocean riding big surf on a rubber raft...after becoming a strong swimmer, of course. The "surf craze" was just beginning. Great memories!
